Averton is immediately seeking a full-time, Area Sales Associate (ASA). The ASA role is a stepping stone to becoming an Area Sales Manager (ASM). The ASA is responsible for assisting the ASM generate sales, meet sales targets, and meet customer service objectives. The ASA also provides exceptional customer service to existing and potential customers.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Frequently research the local housing market; review and compare Averton's housing product on an on-going basis
  • Prospect and network for new business and customer opportunities
  • Liaise with the Construction Department to ensure proper information flow, orderly start and delivery of sold and spec homes
  • Oversee all documentation and paperwork load flow related to business
  • Work closely with the ASM to generate and facilitate sales

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working in a showhome environment a a Host/Hostess or Assistant
  • Consistently demonstrate initiative to learn and grow within the organization and the new home industry
  • An energetic positive attitude is an absolute must! We pride ourselves in providing a productive, pleasant and positive working environment.
  • The hours of work are 5 shifts per week during regular showhome hours. Occasional hours outside of this schedule are required.

Averton is immediately seeking an Finishing Superintendent with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join our team. We are only seeking candidates who can demonstrate an ability to organize and problem solve and with experience in residential new home construction.

Job Purpose 

The Finishing Superintendent will be responsible for all job site-related activities at Parkside Towns (Phase 1, 2 and 3), stacked units at Kitchener, Ontario. Working closely with the Site Super and project teams, the finishing superintendent will monitor and report on job site safety and construction schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Enforce and monitor the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Work Safe regulations to ensure a safe jobsite
  • Understand thoroughly the Company’s Health and Safety Plan and execute its requirements, policies, and procedures; ensure all safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
  • Ensure that all work is performed by contractors and suppliers to contract documents (including drawings, specifications and contract scopes of work), with due regard to quality control and contract document compliance; report any discrepancies or omissions directly to the Project Manager and Operations Manager
  • Work with the Superintendent and Project Team to ensure appropriate action is taken in cases where contracts, plans, and specifications are inadequate or incomplete
  • Attend and document scheduled Contractor and Consultant meetings as well as project meetings
  • Maintain an updated construction schedule and meet project milestones on time and on budget
  • Identify possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems
  • Maintain a daily log and track any pertinent discussions, site visitors, meetings, and problems encountered, to become a part of the project record
  • Ensure that all inspections, Occupancy Permits, and possession dates have been achieved to the satisfaction of the Project
  • Review and maintain the construction finishing schedule and ensure that all contractors and suppliers meet critical deadlines
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists
  • Provide leadership and maintain a working relationship with all Contractors, Suppliers, Vendors and site team and encourage a positive work environment

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience as a Site Superintendent working for a General Contractor or Construction Manager in local construction, specifically residential projects
  • Construction Management certificate/diploma or Trade Qualification is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated success in working on high-end finishing’s
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and stay composed while working under pressure, leading by example and maintaining a high standard of professionalism
  • Proficiency with construction drawings, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, and strong writing & communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills with planning, organization and the ability to multitask, as well as leadership and supervisory skills
  • Customer service experience and the ability to problem solve in an effective manner
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Procore knowledge is an asset

  • Primarily a typical site environment; located in Kitchener, Ontario
